Palmistry for All by William John Warner • Over 60 Illustrations • 110 pages
This book is the ultimate guide to learning the art of palm reading. Palmistry is also called Chiromancy (sometimes spelled Cheiromancy) and is named for the author of this book, William John Warner, and Irish Astrologer known as Cheiro.
Chiromancy is the practice of evaluating a person's character and future life by reading their palm. Various Lines, like the Heart Line or Life Line, and Mounts (or bumps) are interpreted based on their size, qualities, and intersections.
Some palm readers also examine characteristics of the fingers, fingernails, fingerprints, and skin patterns, skin texture and color, shape of the palm, and flexibility of the hand. A reader usually begins by reading the person's dominant hand.
The basic framework for classical palmistry is rooted in Greek mythology. Each area of the palm and fingers is related to a god or goddess, and the features of that area indicate the nature of the corresponding aspect of the subject. For example, the ring finger is associated with the Greek god Apollo and characteristics of the ring finger are tied to the subject's dealings with art, music, aesthetics, fame, wealth, and harmony.
